84 Days - New Layout

Happy Saturday my scrappy friends.  We started off the day with a great little playdate with 5 of Maddie's friends. We hosted and made strawberry iced tea, 7 layer dip, fruit, cheese, crackers, and two kinds of quiche for lunch. The kids all had a ball, although Maddie fell out of her chair and knocked her head pretty good.

This evening I was able to play a bit while Daddy gave Maddie a bath and put her to bed. :)  This layout is Maddie at 84 days - just 24" long.

I played along with the Fabulous Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs.  The challenge was to use a layout with only 3 colors - black, white, and one other color of your choosing.  The lighting wasn't too great, but I used white and grey (a shade of black) with my third color being yellow.

For the left side I used the May sketch from DCWV.  I used two different Old World Stacks for the pattern papers.

I also played along with Sketch-N-Scrap's birthday bash with Ria's Die-cut challenge and Rachel's Twine Challenge! Ria's challenge was to use a die-cut.  I used the large arrows at the bottom of the left hand side created with my Quickutz. Rachel's challenge was to use twine.  I used twine along the top of my banner and then created a spiral on the end of the banner.

For the right side of my page I used the May week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

I also played along with It's About the Girls - May 15th challenge to create a starburst pattern.  I used the tutorial and created my own starburst.

Here are a few close-up photos:

Materials Used: paper - DCWV; border strip - K&Company; stickers - Colorbok; journaling tage - Colorbok; chipboard - BasicGrey; paint - Making Memories; chipboard - Jennibowlin; twine - WeRMemory Keepers; die-cut - quickutz; tag and metal - Me&MyBigIdeas; ink - CTMH.

Oh the Places You'll Go - New Layout

Happy Mother's Day! I have been wanting to scrap this photo of Maddie since the day I took it, over a year and a half ago.

The NSD challenge over at Let's Scrap was the perfect opportunity to scrap this picture. Challenge #1 is to create a layout using a quote from your favorite book, it can be the title or somewhere on your layout. Let the book inspire the colors and details on your page. My title is "The More that you Read, the More that you Know. The more that you Learn, the more Places You'll Go!"  The problem is you also have to use a Let's Scrap sketch and I completely forgot. I instead used a sketch from Scrappy Friends - Grand Divas Scrappy Place May challenge sketch.

Here is the sketch I used:

Here are a couple of close up photos:

Materials Used:  paper - Crate Paper; title stickers - Basic Grey and Heidi Swapp; banner - Basic Grey; ink - CTMH.

Baby Face & I See What You See - New Layouts

Another week has come and gone, how do I get time to slow down? Tonight I had a chance to scrap and completed two different pages that I plan to be across from each other in Maddie's album.  Here is the photo of both of them together.

For the left side, I used the sketch from Scrap Africa challenge #17.  I matched the sketch almost exactly although I added a couple more embellishments.

I also played along with the MME and JBS Mercantile recipe challenge over at Jenni Bowlin Studio.  The recipe challenge is as follows:

Recipe Challenge:
1. Combine at least two MME products to create a unique handmade embellishment - I used 4 MME products to create my handmade arrow embellishment. I used MME Stella and Rose paper, MME twine; MME decorative compass brad and MME Stella and Rose trinket heart.
2. Focus on the journaling in a creative way - I journaled by repeating the same words over and over to represent the action Maddie was learning in these photos, to lift her head!
3. Get painterly! - I painted the edges of all the photos.

Here are a few close up photos of my layout:

For the right side, I used a sketch from Scrap Your Story - challenge #11

I also played along with Scrappy Friends - Scrappin N Happy May challenge.  This is a recipe challenge that requires the use of lots of layers, use at least one stamp and include stars.  I layered everything on this page from papers, to photos, to ribbon, to brads, to a felt border.  I also added red heart stickers and stamped my title with CTMH stamps.

Here are a couple of close up photos of my layout:

Materials Used:  paper - MME; ink - CTMH; arrow - Scenic Route; paint - Making Memories; twine - MME; decorative brads - MME; banner stickers - Jenni Bowlin; star stickers - Jenni Bowlin; journaling sticker - Jenni Bowlin; ribbon - MME; felt border - Queen & Co.; metal embellishment heart - MME; date sticker - Jenni Bowlin; letter stickers - unknown.

Our Garden - New Layout

I had so much fun scrapping for NSD, that I just continued the fun! Here is a layout I completed of Maddie and DH planting our garden this year.  Maddie is quite the little "helper".

For the left side, I played along with a new scrap blog Scrap Around the World Challenge #1. You had to be inspired by the mood board and use the sketch below as your starting point.  I was inspired by the teal color, the flowers, and the old painted wood. I splattered paint on my background paper and then incorporated the color teal and flowers.  I followed the sketch pretty close, except my circle is quite a bit smaller.

For the right side of my page I played along with Colorful Creations Sketch-A-Thon.  This is the sketch #1.

I rotated and mirrored the sketch. I also used a journaling pocket for my journaling.

Here are a couple of close-up photos:

Materials used:  paper - Pebbles; phrase cards - Pebbles; pocket journaling - Pebbles; chipboard - Scenic Route; paint - Making memories; washi tape - unknown; tag toppers - quickutz; ribbon - unknown; title - quickutz.

NSD - Silly Moments Layout

Yes, this is my final layout for NSD weekend! This is layout #8 for the weekend. It is another with recent photos of Maddie. Yes, she does have Daddy's underware around her neck! LOL!

For this layout I played along with the Berry71Bleu and OUAS (Once Upon A Sketch) collaborative challenge for the month of May. The challenge is to use the following sketch:

Along with the theme Numbers!!!

This month, we ask you to include a number , ANY number, on your layout. It has to be VISIBLE on your layout and it can be in your title or part of your journalling. It can be a date, an age, a house number, an anniversary, the number of children you have, the number of pets ....anything you like. But please make sure that there is some explanation through your journalling, somewhere on your page or blog about what this number means to you.

Your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below.

I used the number 18, as Maddie is 18 months old in these photos. She is beyond silly at this age and a pure joy! She is no longer my little baby, but a little girl full of spunk, energy, and attitude. She makes us laugh everyday.

Additionally Berry71Bleu is requiring chipboard to be used on your layout. I used all the flower chipboard in the lower right hand corner from MME.

I also played along with Rochelle Spears - Scrappy Friends challenge for May. Her challenge is to use one of the phrases on the following:

I used "silly" of course. I used it in the "silly moments" arrow and the sub-title sun.

Although this is its own layout, I coordinated it to match the layout on the opposite page. Here are the two layouts together:

Materials used:  paper - MME; journaling sticker - MME; phrase card - MME; chipboard flowers - MME; thickers - American Crafts; stickers - MME; date stamp - Making Memories; bling - Want 2 Scrap.

NSD - Brusha Brusha Layout

Hello all! I am posting yet another layout completed for NSD! I wish it was National Scrapbook Month! This is layout #7 for me this weekend, so I have definitely been inspired. This is a layout of Maddie, very recent where she is brushing her teeth. Most nights I brush them for her while she plays with a little cup in the water, but once in awhile she will brush them herself (which consists of her sucking the water out of the toothbrush). We are just brushing with water still, but she definitely understands it is part of her night night routine.

I used sketch #32 from Sketch N Scrap for this layout:

I rotated the sketch to work with my photos.

Here are a couple of close up photos:

Materials used: paper - MME; chipboard buttons - MME; twine - WeRMemoryKeepers; journaling card - MME; thickers - American Crafts;  trimmer - Fiskars; date stamp - Making Memories.

NSD - Amazing Fall Layout

Happy Sunday my scrappy friends! I am still creating away for NSD! This is layout #5 &#6 for me. A layout of Maddie from last fall at the pumpkin patch.

For this layout I played along with Archi-Scraps May challenge "with Autumn Leaves".

The challenges is to use the photo inspiration to create a layout about Autumn with the added criteria of Leaves.

What better challenge to use for my fabulous fall photos of Maddie? I used a patterned paper that had leaves as the photo frame and then added large 3D leaves to the left side of the page.

Here are a couple of close up photos:

Materials used: paper - Imaginisce and unknown; 3D stickers - Me&MyBigIdeas Soft Spoken; rub-on AMM; journaling block - Teresa Collins; date sticker - jenni bowlin.

NSD - Snug As A Bug Layout

Here is another layout for NSD - #4! Not as many as I was hoping to complete, but not bad considering I was also taking care of the kiddo. This layout is for the Page Maps, 7th Anniversary Grand Prize Sketch contest.  It is of Maddie in her swing at about 41 days old.

Here is the sketch that must be used:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch, except I journaled where the title is and added a couple more embellishments.

I also played along with the Little Yellow Bicycle - NSD Favorite Collection Challenge. I used an old collection - the Snugglebug Collection. All paper, phrase stickers, 3D stickers, journaling tablet, and rub-ons were from this collection. The only thing not LYB is the Sandylion alphabet stickers used for the title, the two CTMH stamps, the ribbon, and the Martha Stewart cloud stickers.

Hope you are scrapping!

NSD - ccrd

I hope you've been able to spend the day scrapping! I managed a little bit. This is my #3 for NSD! It is actually the second side to a layout I completed a couple of weeks ago of Maddie's Sip and See.

I used the pagemaps sketch below:

This is a sketch contest to kickoff the Pagemaps Anniversary Party. There is a great prize from Little Yellow Bicycle!

I also played along with S.W.A.T (Scrap Warriors Advanced Training) Drill #7 - Tic Tac Toe.
I used the bottom row. My 3 different manufacturers are: Hot of the Press Paper Pizzaz paper, Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas, and Basic Grey paper garland. I used a chipboard frame for the upper right hand photo and used Making Memories paint to paint it!

Here are a couple of close-up photos:
