Project Life - Week 33

Welcome to Project Life 2012! If you are new to my blog, welcome! I hope you will stay a while. I'm Jessica, wife to Juan, mommy to new baby Maddie. I am also an electrical engineer by day and I am participating in Project Life, a different way to record our lives by taking one photo a day. This was inspired by the fabulous Becky Higgins who has put together a wonderful kit to make this challenge easier.

I am using the digital Cobalt kit, find it at http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog/2011/10/new-product-has-arrived/ This digital version uses Shutterfly and is SUPER easy to use! See my completed pages for 2012 at http://scraplifterdesigns.blogspot.com/p/project-life-layouts.html

And now my pictures of the week:
Sunday - We FINALLY have a place to install my oak shelves. I built these in junior high shop class and have had them stored for 12 years since I moved to Dallas with no where to hang them. They are about 8 feet wide. We hung them today in our spare bedroom which is going to have a travel theme. I love how they look!

Monday - Our hummingbird feeder is attracting a ton of little visitors. On a sadder note, Juan was fired today out of the blue after 12 years at his architectural firm. It was a very bad experience and we have lost all respect for that firm and how they handled it. I was in complete shock with no warning this was even a possibility. We spent the afternoon with my brother and sister-in-law over many adult beverages.

Tuesday - Juan spent the afternoon documenting the "tough times" that we are now facing with a photography session with Maddie. I guess it could be worse.

Wednesday - Today Maddie turned 11 months old. Every month I say I can't believe how big she is getting. I feel like I blinked and she is no longer my little baby. I love her so much!

Thursday - Juan working on his resume. It's been a long, tough week and I'm afraid there are many more ahead. Still no offers on the townhome and there is a very good possibility we may loose one of the houses if our status doesn't change in the next few weeks. Right now we are just praying everyday that God will provide for us and Juan will find another job quickly.

Friday - ccrd had a Night at the Ballpark to watch the Rough-Rider's baseball game. Maddie enjoyed all of the kids scampering about. It was nice to see everyone and visit with the families.

Saturday - We had to cancel our desk but the chairs we had taken with us, so we used them to stage this photo to include in Maddie's 1 year birthday invitation.

Thanks for visiting!

Project Life - Week 32

And now my pictures of the week:

Sunday - Today was Isabella's 5th birthday party. It was at the Cimmaron Water Park in Irving. It was a great little water park perfect for children. They opened the park 2 hours early just for Isabella's party. Isabella had a great time and Maddie loved the water and all of the other children.

Monday - Such a sad day in our neighborhood. Our neighbor on the street behind us has a house fire. It was a three alarm fire and thankfully no one was injured. Apparently a gas fired propane grill in the backyard exploded but the two teenage boys got out safely. The house was a total loss. Our hearts and prayers go out to our new neighbors.

Tuesday - Maddie still loves her baths. Daddy has been teaching her his "stank eye" stare and she has quickly picked it up. She is a little mini Juan.

Wednesday - Maddie is a little Monkey! Today I caught her climbing the little foot ramp onto her foot stool. She will climb on anything.

Thursday - Maddie has been enthralled with her Baby Einstein cards the last couple of days. There are about 12 cards with different animals on them. For whatever reason, she always want to be holding both the Lion and Bear. She hollared everytime we tried to swap out her cards. Such a goofy little girl.

Saturday - We went to the dump to look for a unique chair for Maddie's birthday invitations. We found a chair, but it was perfect for our front porch so we decided to buy two of them. We also fell in love with a desk set for our bedroom. Juan found it and I agreed it was perfect. Not at all what we should be buying right now, and way too expensive but it was too perfect to pass up. It is being delivered on Tuesday! We wore out pore little Maddie who zonked out the second we hit the road.

Thanks for visiting!

And now my pictures of the week:

Sunday - Jaime came to visit and Maddie had lots of fun with her Tio.

Monday - Juan tells Maddie all the time they are "cheese buddies". Almost everyday he shares a cheesestick with Maddie. She will sit nicely with him as long as there is cheese, once the cheese is gone, she is off and exploring again.

Tuesday - Maddie loves to be outside. Each day we head outside to check the mail and then we open it together. Usually that involves a lot of Maddie tearing up paper and trying to eat it, but she enjoys it.

Wednesday - Baby food in mass production. We are still making Maddie's food, just now it is in small bite sized pieces. We have also started incorporating a few frozen vegetables.

Thursday - Nana came to visit today. She has been working every weekend, so we haven't seen much of her lately. I love watching her interact and play with Maddie. Maddie was so happy when Nana arrived, she loves her Nana a lot!

Friday - Today we went to Babies R Us. Maddie was out of everything: diapers, wipes, oatmeal, yogurt, and even laundry soap. When I got home from work today, Maddie was asleep in her crip napping and Juan was on the bed fast asleep.

Saturday - We had a busy day today. First Maddie had to eat her shoes, then we went to Nana's house to visit, and then we went to see our friend, Doug's new house. Maddie was amazed by all the children and Ryan shared all his toys. It was a long, busy day.
